'JaKobe' Layout

Hello everyone!!

Hope your weekend is going great! Mine is going awesome....had a fab 'score' at a garage sale today that my roomate found. Bought a giant dresser and two gorgeous shelving units (for my bookin' stuff) for $25!! Oh yes, you read that right $25!!

So in the middle of cooking breakfast, hitting the garage sale, cooking dinner and cleaning, I did manage to get a LO done. I love taking random pics of my son and scrapbooking them and this is one of them;

I cut the flourishes out with the Sizzix Vine die with my Cuttlebug. I cut it out with chipboard first then again with my printed cardstock for a more dimensional look. Then I inked the edges.
I then used my Crystal Effects from Stampin' Up! to make it glossy....love this stuff!!
Here is another embellishment I cut out with my Cuttlebug and the Sizzix Decorative Accent #2 die. And ofcourse I inked the edges!
Then I used my Tulip fabric paint to make my 'dots'.
This part was nerve-wrecking!! Trying to line up my sons name with the vinyl letters! Man, what a task!
So one night I cut a bunch of these butterflies out with my Cricut and an SVG file. I filled a whole page with these and cut them out twice, once on white cardstock and once on printed cardstock. Then, while watching TV, I inked them and glued them together and put them in a little tupperwear container. Fab idea cause they were a perfect touch for this photo since my son loves butterflies!! I used the Tulip fabric paint again to make the 'pearls' on them.
I added some tulle and a stick pin. You can get these uber gorgeous stick pins for only $1 over at Denise's Etsy store!!
The flower I put together after sitting around one night watching movies with my son. I bought a ton of these on clearance at Michaels a while ago. They were an off white and I sprayed them with ink. You can't tell in the pic but I did spray it with Shimmer, glittered the center white flower and glued on a resin flower.
I added rhinestones to the vines. The pic is matted on black cardstock, then on blue glitter cardstock (hard to see) and then popped up.

I hope you like my LO! Please leave me a comment cause I LOVE them!! Hopefully I will brave the video camera and make a video showing this LO a little better....gotta do something with nails first tho!! he he he :)
Have a great weekend!

Cooking With Cricut Challenge #42--Entry!!!

Hey Scrappy Family!!

I am entering the Cooking With Cricut Challenge #42 and wanted to show you my project! The challenge rules were simple, use your Cricut markers, Cri-kits pens or use a 'sun' cut if you don't have the pens or markers for the Cricut. I have the Cri-kits pen sets and love them! So that is what I used for my card and here it is:

I used my favorite program in the world Sure Cuts Alot 2! I unfortunately do not remember where I got the bird file, maybe SVGCuts.com (my go to!) The card was a separate file, just overlapped them here so I could see how they would look together.
I separated everything so I could 'draw' the image.
Here is my Expression in action! I used my Cri-Kits purple metallic pen with housing.
Here's the tricky part, after it was done 'drawing' and went back into SCAL and deleted all of the lettering and artwork so when I switched my pen housing back to my blade housing, it would ONLY cut what was left, which was the bird and shadow, not the lettering, etc.
Next I cut out the card.
I used these uber fabulous Stickles I won over at my friend's blog The Purple Muse. This is the first time I've ever used Stickles (usually use whatever glitter glue is in my stash) and now I'm hooked! Now I have to go to Michaels and really stock up!! I colored in all of the lettering and artwork with it! Then I popped the white shimmer paper bird with pop dots--ofcourse!
I used the Stickles...again!...for the center of my flowers, curled the flower petals, put ribbon on and adhered paper to the back of the flowers with the Luxury Stack below. You have to check out my friend Denise's Etsy shop for these FABULOUS stick pins, best part....only $1 EACH...HOLY COW!!

Aren't they just fabulous??!!! Go get some now!!! Denise is sooo creative!

Here it is again, I hope you like it and leave me a comment please! I just LOVE reading and responding to them! You know,,,,,you can follow too! Just sayin'! he he he!!

Now go enter your project over at Cooking With Cricut. I'm also entering this over at Paper Cutz Challenge. Their rules were something you see in the sky! How freakin' fun is that?!!

Thanks for looking!

Paper Playtime Challenge #50 Entry!!!

Hey everyone!!

How was your weekend? Mine was cut short, only had Saturday off, but I get this friday off instead...soooo you know what that means.....oh yeah, 3 day weekend for this lady right here (thumbs pointing at myself)!! Anyways, I came across this challenge over at Paper Playtime. It looks like a lot of fun and they don't have too many rules in order to enter. Your project just has to be 'summer' themed, yep, that's it!

So I finally have done a LO! I have been doing cards and other things that I have completely fallen behind on scrapbooking my son..:(  I like the challenges where it doesn't have to be a card so that's why I chose this one. Here is my entry:

I chose pics from when we went to the park and he decided to brave the slide and go down head-first!
It's a two page LO. I like the 2nd page better than the first, may have to go back and add more stuff.
I wanted it quick and simple...notice no Cricut cuts, didn't even ink edges or make stitch lines!!!
See? Kind of plain for my taste but like I said, I'll probably go back and add stuff later.
This page I like a lot better. I popped the middle pic, my journaling and the 'one of a kind' title.
All paper is from DCWV Summer Dream stack. I purchased it a LONG time ago on clearance and hardly ever use it. Kind of figured it was 'appropriate' to use paper titled 'Summer'!!
I used my EK Success punch, I love these punches!
On both pages I used one of these embellishments. I just bought this from JoAnns for .50cents!!
And here it is again. Like I said quick and simple!
I hope you like my LO! I surely hope I have more LO's to come!! Who are we kidding....I WILL!
Please leave me a comment! I love reading and responding!

Now don't forget to head over to Paper Playtime and link up a Summer project!

Blogger issues!

Hi everyone!

I have been sooo frustrated! I have not been able to leave comments on blogs with my google id in over a month! Whenever I try to leave a comment and click the drop-down tab to choose an ID, I choose Google. It pops me over to sign into google with my email and password. Once I do that, it pops me back to the blog I was trying to comment on and says Anonymous at the top, but still doesn't let me leave a comment!

I have even upgraded my Explorer browser from 7 to 9 and upgraded google to chrome. Lowered my setting...etc...basically everything that google help has said to do and to no avail! I am ready to scream!! I want to leave comments for my scrappy family out there and cannot!! The only time it lets me is if the blog I'm on is set to have the pop-up window for the comment, then for some reason I'm already signed in can leave a comment (like on mypinkstamper.com).

Does anyone have any suggestions!! Ready to rip my hair out!

Thanks for any help!!

xoxo Charity

Cooking With Cricut #40 Challenge!

Hey everyone!!

Here is my entry for Cooking With Cricut #40 Challenge! The rules were to make a project that had a cow on it in honor of June being national dairy month. If you didn't have a cow cut then you could make a project with black and white and a little bit of a color of your choice. So here is my card!!
 "feeling sick? milk it"

Bessy..yes, I named her! was cut from Create A Critter cart.
I LOVE this cart, it is definately my go to.
I pieced her together with my fab ATG gun and Zig 2-way pen.
Ofcourse I had to pop her up!
The sentiment was NOT cut with Just Because Cards cart...it was written!!
I absolutely LOVE these Cri-Kits pens. They are so incredible! You can get them here.
They come with the housing and you just put it in your Cricut in place of your blade housing!
How easy is that??!!
Sorry it's hard to see but was trying to get a pic of it in action!
Here is the finished piece. I then just cut it out by hand with scissors.

I purchased these little resin flowers on Ebay and put one in her 'hair'....or ear...hmmm.
I used my Stampin-Up punch on the sentiment so I could tie the charm onto it.
Look at this gorgeous charm!! They are only $2!! Holy cow! hahaha...unintentional pun! hehehe
You can get the handmade charm and stick pins here.
Now I have a card for when someone is not feeling good, they get a card AND gift in one!!!
"feeling sick? milk it"
Ofcourse I had to add some bling since I don't have a flower or ribbon, omg something must be wrong with me!! I put little rhinestones at the bottom. I hope you like my card, now go check out the other fabulous entries and Design Team designs over at CWC #40!

Have a safe and fab July 4th!

xoxo Charity
