Paper Lovin' Gals Challenge & DT Call!!!

Hey everyone!!

It is time for the 2nd challenge over at Paper Lovin' Gals! I'm sooo excited! We also have a Design Team Call going on and need to fill 3 spots....soooo....when you enter your fabulous craft project (inspired by the pic provided) put your name with DT at the end of it. That's it! You have until Tuesday, November 1st 8pm pst to enter for the call.

So here is the next challenge picture to get inspired from;

Isn't this such a pretty pic!! Of course the pumpkins just jumped out at me and I thought of a million things I could do. However, I just moved a week ago from Las Vegas to Cleveland, Ohio and didn't have a lot of my scrapbooking supplies unpacked...I know! I couldn't believe it wasn't the first thing to be unpacked either!

Anyways! Here is what I came up with;

I LOVE the stick pins that Denise makes, and they're only a $1!! The red paper I pulled from the barn, the blue was pulled from the sky, the orange from the pumpkins and of course the pumpkin and leaf from the pumpkins! I really like to make little cards with these stick pins cause they make a really nice and quick card/gift all in one!

The pumpkin is a sticker I mounted to chipboard, the twine and papers are from blog candy I won. I folded the orange paper and taped it down. I just stuck the pin under the twine and into the paper so whomever gets it can just pull it out!

NOW....on to your projects! Remember, this is ANY craft project!! We want to see it ALL!! Take a look at the pic provided, get some inspiration from all the DT's and get your craft on!

Scrappin' Sista Birthday Month!!

Hey everyone!!

I am soooo honored to be part of Christel's Birthday Month! Everyday this month a new Crafter will be featured for Christels birthday. Today is my day and I made her a Flower Birthday Card with all the fixins'! Christel said her favorite colors are purple, orange, turqoise and red, and even though her birthday is in October, nothing Halloween themed. So I tried to incorporate as many of the colors as I could! I really hope she likes her card!
And at last minute, what would a card be without a little charm gift!
I LOVE these! I get these and my stick pins from Denise's Etsy Shop for CHEAP!!
I added tons of flowers I pieced together, some I dyed myself. I cut the rosette out with my Cricut.
I used Tulip Pearl Fabric Paint for the 'pearls'.

The butterflies were also cut with my Cricut and Sure Cuts A Lot.
The 'Happy Birthday' is a stamp from my stash.

If you have never been over to Scrappin Sista's Blog, you are missing out! She does fabulous work and is extremely inspirational. It was such a blessing to be part of her birthday month! Happy Birthday Month!
Thank you Christel!!

Lasting Memories Challenge #57

Hey everyone!!

First I want to say my prayers are going out to a fellow Design Team Sister Evanna. Her and her family found out this week that her little girl has leukemia. As a mother to a 3 yo, I just couldn't imagine what she is going through and how strong they have to be right now for her little girl. Please send a prayer her way as we all know it can do wonderful things! My heart goes out to you Evanna.

It's Sunday Sunday Sunday!! We have an awesome challenge for you this week at Lasting Memories!!! It is all about FRAMES & FLOWERS on those layouts! So break out those pics, get some scrappin' goodies and get some layouts done! Do you need some inspiration? Then check out what my Design Team Sisters have cooked up for you! Brenda, Marie, Karen, Caryn, Vicki, Amy, Michelle, Wendy, Joelle and KimThere are, as usual, awesome layouts to get inspiration from.

This was SUPER easy peasy for me because we all know just how much I love, love, love flower!! I may have a little boy but that sure doesn't stop me from adding those flowers on my layouts!! The frame part was kind of tough cause I apparently don't use frames much! So that part was kind of a challenge for me. So here is my layout:

I added lots of flowers, most I made myself.
The pic opens like a book with my journaling inside.
"Grow" "Bloom" wording I had in my stash.
The frame around the page is chipboard I painted.
Flowers I pieced together and added my uber fav stick pins from
Denise for only $1 each!
The blue flower I cut with my Cricut Expression, inked and glued together.
I added another gorgeous stick pin.
And VIOLA!! Lots of flowers and some frames!

Here's a video to see out it was created!

I hope you like my layout and get inspired to get some of your layouts done. Don't forget to check out my Design Team Sisters at Lasting Memories and spread some love. You have until Saturday Oct. 1st to get linked up!

And if you could, please say a prayer for Evanna.

Lasting Memories Challenge #56

Hey everyone!!

It's Sunday and you know what that means?!!! There's a new challenge at Lasting Memories! Time to get another layout done to add to your scrapbooks and feel like you're accomplishing something! That's why I just LOVE Lasting Memories Challenges because it's all about LAYOUTS! Nothing else, just layouts, so we are forced to get our scrap on and get those pics decorated and in the books!

So this challenge is a fun one! Use the sketch provided, twist it, turn it, make it work for you just as long as we can still see it somewhere in there! The only catch is it needs to be done in FALL COLORS. Need some inspiration? Go check out the rest of the fabulous Design Team and see what they've cooked up for ya'!

My layout is about good old pumpkin carving! JaKobe, his Dad and his Stepbrother Brandon and I were carving pumpkins. JaKobe just wanted to stir the pumpkin guts that were in the bowl and pretend he was cooking! He later tried to eat part of it and realized that wasn't the best decision he's ever made! We made a total of 5 pumpkins (3 boys, dad and mom). I think I might do another page to this LO to include the pic of all of the pumpkins....we'll see! Until then, here is this one using the provided sketch:

Stick pins and charms by Denise at http://www.etsy.com/people/IndianBeauty
Only $1!!

The pumpkin is cut out from a paper that had pumpkins all over it.
I then used Crystal Effects from Stampin' Up to make him shine!
The leaf tag is from another piece of paper filled with little pics and I cut it out.
Title cut using my Cricut Expression with Sure Cuts A Lot2 software.
You know me and my hidden journaling!!
And ofcourse a video to show how I put it all together!

So....check out the Design Team's creations at Lasting Memories, get inspired and get your scrap on! I'm also going to enter this layout at the Creative Accents Challenge. They too have a great DT and wonderful challenges! This challenge you have to use ribbon, embellishments and patterned paper. I can't wait to see what you create using the sketch with your fall colors. You have until Saturday at 9pm est to get linked up. Thanks for checking out my layout!

'JaKobe' Layout

Hello everyone!!

Hope your weekend is going great! Mine is going awesome....had a fab 'score' at a garage sale today that my roomate found. Bought a giant dresser and two gorgeous shelving units (for my bookin' stuff) for $25!! Oh yes, you read that right $25!!

So in the middle of cooking breakfast, hitting the garage sale, cooking dinner and cleaning, I did manage to get a LO done. I love taking random pics of my son and scrapbooking them and this is one of them;

I cut the flourishes out with the Sizzix Vine die with my Cuttlebug. I cut it out with chipboard first then again with my printed cardstock for a more dimensional look. Then I inked the edges.
I then used my Crystal Effects from Stampin' Up! to make it glossy....love this stuff!!
Here is another embellishment I cut out with my Cuttlebug and the Sizzix Decorative Accent #2 die. And ofcourse I inked the edges!
Then I used my Tulip fabric paint to make my 'dots'.
This part was nerve-wrecking!! Trying to line up my sons name with the vinyl letters! Man, what a task!
So one night I cut a bunch of these butterflies out with my Cricut and an SVG file. I filled a whole page with these and cut them out twice, once on white cardstock and once on printed cardstock. Then, while watching TV, I inked them and glued them together and put them in a little tupperwear container. Fab idea cause they were a perfect touch for this photo since my son loves butterflies!! I used the Tulip fabric paint again to make the 'pearls' on them.
I added some tulle and a stick pin. You can get these uber gorgeous stick pins for only $1 over at Denise's Etsy store!!
The flower I put together after sitting around one night watching movies with my son. I bought a ton of these on clearance at Michaels a while ago. They were an off white and I sprayed them with ink. You can't tell in the pic but I did spray it with Shimmer, glittered the center white flower and glued on a resin flower.
I added rhinestones to the vines. The pic is matted on black cardstock, then on blue glitter cardstock (hard to see) and then popped up.

I hope you like my LO! Please leave me a comment cause I LOVE them!! Hopefully I will brave the video camera and make a video showing this LO a little better....gotta do something with nails first tho!! he he he :)
Have a great weekend!

Cooking With Cricut Challenge #42--Entry!!!

Hey Scrappy Family!!

I am entering the Cooking With Cricut Challenge #42 and wanted to show you my project! The challenge rules were simple, use your Cricut markers, Cri-kits pens or use a 'sun' cut if you don't have the pens or markers for the Cricut. I have the Cri-kits pen sets and love them! So that is what I used for my card and here it is:

I used my favorite program in the world Sure Cuts Alot 2! I unfortunately do not remember where I got the bird file, maybe SVGCuts.com (my go to!) The card was a separate file, just overlapped them here so I could see how they would look together.
I separated everything so I could 'draw' the image.
Here is my Expression in action! I used my Cri-Kits purple metallic pen with housing.
Here's the tricky part, after it was done 'drawing' and went back into SCAL and deleted all of the lettering and artwork so when I switched my pen housing back to my blade housing, it would ONLY cut what was left, which was the bird and shadow, not the lettering, etc.
Next I cut out the card.
I used these uber fabulous Stickles I won over at my friend's blog The Purple Muse. This is the first time I've ever used Stickles (usually use whatever glitter glue is in my stash) and now I'm hooked! Now I have to go to Michaels and really stock up!! I colored in all of the lettering and artwork with it! Then I popped the white shimmer paper bird with pop dots--ofcourse!
I used the Stickles...again!...for the center of my flowers, curled the flower petals, put ribbon on and adhered paper to the back of the flowers with the Luxury Stack below. You have to check out my friend Denise's Etsy shop for these FABULOUS stick pins, best part....only $1 EACH...HOLY COW!!

Aren't they just fabulous??!!! Go get some now!!! Denise is sooo creative!

Here it is again, I hope you like it and leave me a comment please! I just LOVE reading and responding to them! You know,,,,,you can follow too! Just sayin'! he he he!!

Now go enter your project over at Cooking With Cricut. I'm also entering this over at Paper Cutz Challenge. Their rules were something you see in the sky! How freakin' fun is that?!!

Thanks for looking!

July 4th Frame with stick pin!

Hey everyone!!

Hope you are all having a wonderful holiday weekend so far! I wanted to make something to go with the July 4th stick pin my roommate made. I have some $1 frames from Michaels (JoAnns has the same ones too) and with the holiday..figured it would be appropriate to make something related to that theme!
So here it is!
I stained the frame with Inkabilities Sponge & Inks.
Do you see the awesome pin she made??! And yes...only $1! The flower is made up of pieces I put together with hot glue with the pin sandwiched between them.
These letters are from a kit I had and the pearls are from the Tulip package for fabric I bought and made my own pearls with. I explain how I did it at the bottom of this post HERE.

The rhinestone title is from JoAnn's, I bought it on clearance last year!
And here is the finished frame again. I hope you like it and get
inspired to put something together for the holiday!!
Thanks for checking me out! And don't forget to get some gorgeous stick pins from Denise!
Have a fabulous weekend and a safe one!

xoxo Charity
