Lasting Memories Challenge: Something You Cherish

Hey everyone!

So it has been chaos around here with the move, unpacking, refilling my car with boxes from my original house I left here before I moved to Vegas. Now that I'm back I'm getting all the stuff I left behind the first time! Plus work has been crazy cause of xmas merchandise coming (but my fave time of year!). So needless to say my layout is late!

This week your challenge is to create a layout about something you cherish and use that word for or in your title! That easy! It can be anything, the coffee I'm drinking right now, the football we watch on Sundays, the little man laying next to me! Anything you cherish! Can't wait to see what you come up with! Here's mine:

As we all know I just 'Cherish' my son! He makes me want to make good decisions for us, be a good person, just be the best that I know God put in me! So of course I made my layout of the day I was blessed with my son.

Now, go to Lasting Memories and get some inspiration from my DT Sisters and get another LO made!

NOTHING! NADA! ZIP! ZERO! ZILCH!
Then I printed it, adhered it to chip board and added some favorite embelli's! Isn't this awesome?

 Layered on sticky-back orange and black felt.
Added a ghost button and spider button with lots of glitter and ribbon!
Watch how I put it all together!!

Bling it on!! Challenge #61

Hey everyone!!

We have a new challenge for you at Lasting Memories!! We want to see BLING, BLING AND MORE BLING on those layouts!! Here is what I came up with;

The giant scroll is from the Home Accents cartridge, fit to page. The black paper I stamped all over it to make my own pattern with flowers and silver ink. No hidden journaling this time...I know I know, I can't believe it either! I just love how the blue scroll picks up the blue in his eyes. I added some 'drops' of bling throughout the page with some 'stitch' lines around the paper. I added a blue strip of paper separated by a white rope, kind of hard to see.

I hope you like my take on this layout challenge! Now go check out the other fabulous DT's and get your submission in by Saturday, 8pm est!

Paper Lovin' Gals Challenge & DT Call!!!

Hey everyone!!

It is time for the 2nd challenge over at Paper Lovin' Gals! I'm sooo excited! We also have a Design Team Call going on and need to fill 3 spots....soooo....when you enter your fabulous craft project (inspired by the pic provided) put your name with DT at the end of it. That's it! You have until Tuesday, November 1st 8pm pst to enter for the call.

So here is the next challenge picture to get inspired from;

Isn't this such a pretty pic!! Of course the pumpkins just jumped out at me and I thought of a million things I could do. However, I just moved a week ago from Las Vegas to Cleveland, Ohio and didn't have a lot of my scrapbooking supplies unpacked...I know! I couldn't believe it wasn't the first thing to be unpacked either!

Anyways! Here is what I came up with;

I LOVE the stick pins that Denise makes, and they're only a $1!! The red paper I pulled from the barn, the blue was pulled from the sky, the orange from the pumpkins and of course the pumpkin and leaf from the pumpkins! I really like to make little cards with these stick pins cause they make a really nice and quick card/gift all in one!

The pumpkin is a sticker I mounted to chipboard, the twine and papers are from blog candy I won. I folded the orange paper and taped it down. I just stuck the pin under the twine and into the paper so whomever gets it can just pull it out!

NOW....on to your projects! Remember, this is ANY craft project!! We want to see it ALL!! Take a look at the pic provided, get some inspiration from all the DT's and get your craft on!

Paper Lovin' Gals--Very FIRST Challenge!!

Hey everyone!!

OMG!! I have been holding in my excitement and it's bursting!!! I was sooooo graciously asked to be part of a BRAND NEW DT for Paper Lovin' Gals! It is owned by Michele K. and Michele F.---hehehe, I know M&M, I love it!---and they have come together to form this blog strictly for challenges. The main theme is getting inspiration from a pic they choose and you can do ANY craft from it! You can choose the colors, layout, an item from the pic or anything that inspires you! How fabulous is that??!! We want to see ALL kinds of craftiness!!

Now on to the challenge!! Here is your first pic of inspiration;

OMG isn't this just uber cute?!! And here is what I created;

 My inspiration came from the colors. The blue and pink are so gorgeous! I altered some letters I bought from Michaels on clearance. They were originally white with the white metal hook on the bottom.
 I painted them with black as a base and then blue.
Hot glue gun came in handy for the feathers and flowers.
Tulip Pearl paint was used for the pearls
 Gotta have bling!!

I made these letters for some very special friends I will be leaving behind with my move from Las Vegas to Ohio. I wanted to make them a little something and when I saw this pic I just knew what I was going to do!!

I hope you like my take on the challenge! Make sure you check out the rest of the DT's creations for even more crafty goodness. Now go get your scrap on....or knit...or sew....or anything!! Cause that's what these challenges are all about! now do the hokey pokey and turn yourself about!! Ok..corny I know but I know you were thinking it too!

Go to Paper Lovin' Gals and link up by Tuesday, Oct. 18th, 8 pm pst.

Lasting Memories Challenge - Tag You're It! #59

Hey everyone!!

It's Sunday Sunday Sunday!! We know what that means! The guys are watching the game and we are going to get our scrap on!! So here is another fabulous challenge for you from Lasting Memories! It's all about tags on your layouts and Karen has also chosen a sketch for you to use if you would like to!
I tried to stay as close to it as possible but every time I looked at the little envelope with the tag on it I knew I wanted to use the little envelope of hair I have from my son. Well, that was from his first 'real' hair cut when I cut it ALL off!! So of course that would call for more than just one pic! he he he! So here is my take on the challenge;
Can you believe that is the same little man just an hour later??!!
He instantly grew up and looked older once I cut his hair off!
Here is the envelope with his long lock of hair!
If you look close, I put tiny little tags on the pics too, kind of like tabs.
I adhered them together with a brad in the corner so you can swivel them open.
And here it is with the pics closed again.
I even did the journaling along the edges! I know!! No hidden journaling this time, that's a first!!

Welp! I hope you like my layout! Go to Lasting Memories, check out the other DT's pics, get some inspiration and get to scrappin'!! What a better way to get some layouts done than to join in on some layout only challenges!! I cannot wait to see what you all create!!

Have a blessed day!

Scrappin' Sista Birthday Month!!

Hey everyone!!

I am soooo honored to be part of Christel's Birthday Month! Everyday this month a new Crafter will be featured for Christels birthday. Today is my day and I made her a Flower Birthday Card with all the fixins'! Christel said her favorite colors are purple, orange, turqoise and red, and even though her birthday is in October, nothing Halloween themed. So I tried to incorporate as many of the colors as I could! I really hope she likes her card!
And at last minute, what would a card be without a little charm gift!
I LOVE these! I get these and my stick pins from Denise's Etsy Shop for CHEAP!!
I added tons of flowers I pieced together, some I dyed myself. I cut the rosette out with my Cricut.
I used Tulip Pearl Fabric Paint for the 'pearls'.

The butterflies were also cut with my Cricut and Sure Cuts A Lot.
The 'Happy Birthday' is a stamp from my stash.

If you have never been over to Scrappin Sista's Blog, you are missing out! She does fabulous work and is extremely inspirational. It was such a blessing to be part of her birthday month! Happy Birthday Month!
Thank you Christel!!

Lasting Memories Challenge #58

Hey everyone!!

Time for another fabulous challenge from Lasting Memories!! I LOVE these challenges because it's all about layouts, only layouts and nothing but layouts!

Today's challenge is Recipe With A Twist....and the twist is you have to incorporate SONG LYRICS on your layout somewhere! Ok, lets just start with an OMG cause I kept forgetting this little element of the challenge! Here's the recipe part;
  • (1) photo
  • (2) embellishments of choice
  • (3) colors of choice
This part was easy peasy for me. But why would it be a challenge then? Oh no!! Karen has so graciously added the lyrics part to get our creativity flowing! My son and I have a favorite song by Bruno Mars, it's the Lazy song. So I had this song going through my head while choosing a pic and figuring out how in the world to add lyrics. If I did a vintage or grunge look it would be easy, however, that was not what my creative juices were telling me to do! As you can see by the colors!!

And que the challenge!
I did print the lyrics and just couldn't figure out how to get them on this page and have it still look good. So what I did was write the lyrics along the stems of the flowers!! PHEW! Got them in there! I didn't, however, get that in the video cause when I hit 'record', little did I know I had it on 'pic' mode! So it just took a pic while I was merrily writing away! And here it is:

When we woke up one morning, this is what JaKobe looked like! With tissue and all!!
What scrapbooker wouldn't get a pic of this!

 Can you see the lyrics I wrote in green along the stems?
They're there, just squint a little bit!
 And it continues along the stems for the song.

And here is how I put it all together (minus the part where I wrote the song on the stems!)

Now go check out my Design Team Sisters;  BrendaMarieKarenCarynVickiAmyMichelleWendyJoelle and Kim for some uber fab inspiration and get those layouts done!! We just cannot wait to see what you come up with!
