Cards for Izzy!!!

Cards For Izzy

***THIS POST IS COPIED FROM KAREN'S POST OVER AT LASTING MEMORIES***

Hi there! As most of you know, Evanna's daughter has been diagnosed with Leukemia. When Evanna emailed me last week, I just felt heartsick and wondered what could I do? So, after a lot of thought, I'm going to run "Cards For Izzy" and reach out to all our fellow blogging friends to send a card to little Izzy. All cards can be mailed to Karen at:

Cards For Izzy
c/o Karen Wilson
PO BOX 438
Willow Beach, ONT
L0E 1S0
Canada

Cards do NOT have to be "Get Well", in fact, they can be absolutely ANYTHING that will put a smile on a little girl's face. If you have little ones and they want to make something, PLS add that in! The more cards, the better. I'm asking for all cards to be mailed out by October 21 and I will wait a couple weeks to be sure I get everyone's and then I will pkg everything up and send out to Evanna. Thank you all so very much - now let's make this little girl, and her family, smile.

Lasting Memories Challenge #57

Hey everyone!!

First I want to say my prayers are going out to a fellow Design Team Sister Evanna. Her and her family found out this week that her little girl has leukemia. As a mother to a 3 yo, I just couldn't imagine what she is going through and how strong they have to be right now for her little girl. Please send a prayer her way as we all know it can do wonderful things! My heart goes out to you Evanna.

It's Sunday Sunday Sunday!! We have an awesome challenge for you this week at Lasting Memories!!! It is all about FRAMES & FLOWERS on those layouts! So break out those pics, get some scrappin' goodies and get some layouts done! Do you need some inspiration? Then check out what my Design Team Sisters have cooked up for you! Brenda, Marie, Karen, Caryn, Vicki, Amy, Michelle, Wendy, Joelle and KimThere are, as usual, awesome layouts to get inspiration from.

This was SUPER easy peasy for me because we all know just how much I love, love, love flower!! I may have a little boy but that sure doesn't stop me from adding those flowers on my layouts!! The frame part was kind of tough cause I apparently don't use frames much! So that part was kind of a challenge for me. So here is my layout:

I added lots of flowers, most I made myself.
The pic opens like a book with my journaling inside.
"Grow" "Bloom" wording I had in my stash.
The frame around the page is chipboard I painted.
Flowers I pieced together and added my uber fav stick pins from
Denise for only $1 each!
The blue flower I cut with my Cricut Expression, inked and glued together.
I added another gorgeous stick pin.
And VIOLA!! Lots of flowers and some frames!

Here's a video to see out it was created!

I hope you like my layout and get inspired to get some of your layouts done. Don't forget to check out my Design Team Sisters at Lasting Memories and spread some love. You have until Saturday Oct. 1st to get linked up!

And if you could, please say a prayer for Evanna.

Lasting Memories Challenge #56

Hey everyone!!

It's Sunday and you know what that means?!!! There's a new challenge at Lasting Memories! Time to get another layout done to add to your scrapbooks and feel like you're accomplishing something! That's why I just LOVE Lasting Memories Challenges because it's all about LAYOUTS! Nothing else, just layouts, so we are forced to get our scrap on and get those pics decorated and in the books!

So this challenge is a fun one! Use the sketch provided, twist it, turn it, make it work for you just as long as we can still see it somewhere in there! The only catch is it needs to be done in FALL COLORS. Need some inspiration? Go check out the rest of the fabulous Design Team and see what they've cooked up for ya'!

My layout is about good old pumpkin carving! JaKobe, his Dad and his Stepbrother Brandon and I were carving pumpkins. JaKobe just wanted to stir the pumpkin guts that were in the bowl and pretend he was cooking! He later tried to eat part of it and realized that wasn't the best decision he's ever made! We made a total of 5 pumpkins (3 boys, dad and mom). I think I might do another page to this LO to include the pic of all of the pumpkins....we'll see! Until then, here is this one using the provided sketch:

Stick pins and charms by Denise at http://www.etsy.com/people/IndianBeauty
Only $1!!

The pumpkin is cut out from a paper that had pumpkins all over it.
I then used Crystal Effects from Stampin' Up to make him shine!
The leaf tag is from another piece of paper filled with little pics and I cut it out.
Title cut using my Cricut Expression with Sure Cuts A Lot2 software.
You know me and my hidden journaling!!
And ofcourse a video to show how I put it all together!

So....check out the Design Team's creations at Lasting Memories, get inspired and get your scrap on! I'm also going to enter this layout at the Creative Accents Challenge. They too have a great DT and wonderful challenges! This challenge you have to use ribbon, embellishments and patterned paper. I can't wait to see what you create using the sketch with your fall colors. You have until Saturday at 9pm est to get linked up. Thanks for checking out my layout!

Lasting Memories Challenge #55

Good morning everyone!!!

First, I want to start by saying Thank You to all the Men, Women and Children affected by the tragedies ten years ago. You will always be in my heart, my thoughts and my prayers. Today is a day I will never forget what I was doing and where I was and how that day unfolded. It marks a time in history we will always remember and need to remember. Thank You for the sacrifices you made, the bravery you shown and the true heroism that flooded our hearts that day. Many Mothers, Fathers, Brothers, Sisters, Aunts, Uncles, Grandparents and Children were lost....but You will never be forgotten. THANK YOU

Halloween Card with a treat!

Hey everyone!

I wanted to get a quick card in. Just cause October is known for Halloween, there's still B-Days in there and I wanted to have a card on hand. This ghost was cut on my Cricut last year for halloween decorations, so right now I don't remember where the SVG came from but I will try to find out for you. The paper is from Joanns and guess what?! It was an 6 (yep, I just typed an 6) pack of halloween paper for $1!!!!! No joke!! So of course I grabbed some! Some of the paper was filled with strips of different designs so I just cut and layered them.

I went over each spider with Gelly Roll Clear Stardust to give them some glitter. The purple strip is punched with Martha Stewart's Drippy Goo border punch. 'Trick or Treat' is embossed in purple and I added purple googly eyes and popped him up (surprise surprise!).
I wrote on the inside 'How about a treat?' and made a pocket to hold these.....
OMG how adorable are these??!!!! They fit perfectly inside the pocket for a nice gift! I purchased these from Denise at http://www.etsy.com/people/IndianBeauty for $12 - hand-sewn! You have to check her out!
Well I hope this inspires you to get your scrap on! Thanks for stopping by!!

Lasting Memories Simply You Challenge #54

Hey everyone!!

So I bet you can't guess why my title doesn't say 'challenge entry'??? That's because I am, with GREAT pleasure, one of the new DT Members for Lasting Memories! and que the nervous butterflies in my stomache! This is my first time ever being a member of a DT and OMG am I honored!! Thank you to Karen and the wonderful DT''s who chose me as one of the 7 lucky new members! And congrats to the other 6 new members, how fabulous is this?!!!

Now on to my LO! This Lasting Memories Challenge #54 is called 'Simply You'. And it's simply that! Make a LO about you, what you like, who you are, your style, anything you. Welp, I'm all about my 3 y/o son JaKobe so ofcourse my LO is about us and one of my favorite things we do together. We have a bathtime routine with his towels...yes you read that right, his towels! He loves the animal towels and acts like whatever animal I put him in. He has to check himself out in the mirror, act like the animal, then I scoop him up and, with his little pigs, he has to turn the light switch off! I know I know, a little weird....but come on! Like he's really going to let me do corny stuff like this when he's 16!!! Ok, so here it is;

**sorry about the lighting, it was just not working for me!**

All paper is from DCWV Citrus Stack

Drum roll please......We have an uber fabulous sponsor this week!!!! My Memories is offering up a copy of their latest digital scrapbooking software! Here's how you enter;
1. Join the challenge this week and be sure to link up
2. Visit My Memories, then come back and tell us what your favorite digital kit is.
That's it!! How easy is that?! Make sure you do both to qualify....so go get your scrap on!
Need some inspiration? Check out what the other fabulous LMDT's have created and learn a little something about them!
