WOW!!!! It has been such a looooong time since I've been on here. I have moved across the country, bought a house for me and my son, and enrolled into school!!! PHEW! Thankfully I finally have some easy quarters and have been able to get back into the crafting world. I recently purchased the Cricut Explore Air and absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!!
But I digress, I am here to tell you about some fabulous giveaways over at Cathyplus5! Check out her blog and her wonderful projects and enter to win some goodies!!!
I will hopefully be back on with more tutorials with the new Cricut Explore Air and some projects I've been working on.
Thank you for stopping by and I cannot wait to start seeing more of you again!
Hi everyone!! It is PARTY time at Lasting Memories today!
We're celebrating Karen's
special day with a "Scavenger Hunt Birthday
Hop"! It's her 40th birthday tmw and what better way to celebrate
than to have a hop in blogland!
Before we get started, you better get yourself a
pen and paper because you're going to need it! There are 10 blogs in the hop and
each person has chosen an element to use on her layout. Your job is to find all
10 elements, write them down and choose FIVE to include in your layout!
Be sure to keep your eyes
open because we have sponsors as well as DT members giving goodies away. You may
have to do a little something more for the DT candy, so be sure to read every
post!
Sound like fun?? We think so!!! Ok, lets get to it! You should have
arrived here from Claire and if you're just
coming by, start at Lasting
Memories because you don't want to miss a thing! You'll also find the
master hop list there too. For my layout today, I chose pockets for my
element.
My son and I went to the beach, where we collected sea shells. On the bottom picture I have glued a mini magnifying glass to show how far out people could go to swim.
I have hidden journaling pockets everywhere! If you have been following me, you know I love my hidden journaling and pockets on layouts. I have four pockets on my page. Starting at top left, I have hidden journaling. I have glued, with Crystal Effects, a sea shell to all journaling spots. The next pocket I made with blue glitter paper and my score board. I used a blue mesh bag and placed our sea shells from the beach in this pocket.
Here is another hidden journaling pocket. I asked my son what his favorite part of this day was. He said it was swimming with Mommy! So this is what I wrote and placed in this pocket. Why should I have to write all my thoughts on these layouts?!!
Here is an up-close shot of the pocket of sea shells.
And guess what! I'm giving away some candy!! Just leave me a comment telling me how many pockets I have in my layout and what you like best! I'll be giving away a kit to make your very own summer layout!
Don't forget, for the grand prize you have to complete the hop, enter your layout using FIVE elements you've found a long the
way and be sure to comment that you've done everything!
Thanks so much for joining us! You're next stop is Darcy!
So I did my layout ahead of time to get ahead of the game.......HOWEVER.......I totally forgot to put up my post!! OMG!! I'm losing my mind!
Anyways, so we want to see 2's or 3's on those Layouts! 2 of something, 3 of something, pics, stash, journaling, or like I did, use the # 2 or 3.
Sorry for the delay and last minute notice! Remember we have a new challenge that starts EVERY SUNDAY!!! So go to Lasting Memories and link up with your layout! Be Sure to enter by Saturday night to win a fabulous prize!
Hey everyone!! Thanks for joining me in the Happy Owl-ween 2-day Hop! If you are just visiting and stumbled upon a hop, then start at our wonderful host Susanne's blog! (she has candy too he he he!) Hope you are ready to get inspired by some fabulous designers as I'm sure you already are with the previous 3! You are now on stop 4 with little 'ol me and I cannot wait to show you what I have in store. I made an owl card for halloween using Sure Cuts Alot and my cricut. SCAL is my all time fave software and I use it 90% of the time when cutting with my cricut! I did not record a video for this card due to life as we know it taking over! The time as gotten away from me with some changes going on so I just have a couple of pics. I used DCWV halloween short stack for the owl and background and orange glitter paper for the scallop. The ribbon is from Michaels $1 bin and the bling is Recollections (my second fave in the world!). I used his eyes as the oo in Boo! for a little play. This was super easy and quick....once I actually sat down and put it all together! I love googly eyes, especially colored ones. Sometimes they just add that missing touch, like inking the edges of your paper, which I did on the card. I popped Mr. Whoo on pop dots for some dimension.
NOW FOR WHAT YOU ALL HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR!!!!! BLOG CANDY!!!!!
Yep! I have blog candy to give away to one lucky winner in US/Canada who becomes a follower (also a requirement for the grand prize at Suzanne's blog). Just leave me a comment that you are a follower, or already one and the winner will be chosen by random.org and announced Nov. 1st Good luck everyone, keep hopping cause some other designers have blog candy too! Don't forget to leave comments and become followers to win Suzanne's grand prize! Happy hopping and here is your next stop!

Here is the pic for inspiration:
OOOOOHHHH...SPOOOOOKYYYYY!! Ok, I just had to do it!
I love the orange in this picture, and the little scaredy cat! And since this blog is all about ANYTHING GOES and I have a little special treat in store, I wanted to make something really cool! So here is my creation:
Do you want to know how I made my fabulous sign??? By using this:
That's right! My Memories Suite! It's not just for scrapbooking!! I pieced this together in the software and guess how much I paid for all the lettering, design, paper and embellishments?
NOTHING! NADA! ZIP! ZERO! ZILCH!
Then I printed it, adhered it to chip board and added some favorite embelli's! Isn't this awesome?
Layered on sticky-back orange and black felt.
Added a ghost button and spider button with lots of glitter and ribbon!
Watch how I put it all together!!
You know what's more awesome?? One of you is going to win your very own free software download! This is what you have to do:
For 1 entry (these 3 must be done in order to be eligible):
b. Check out My Memories Suite, then come back and tell me your favorite kit.
c. Show the DT's some love! Check out their blogs and leave them a comment under their design for Challenge #3, once you hit all 5 (Michele K., Michele F., Holly & Kasey) (including myself), then leave your comment telling me you did it!
Sounds like a lot....I know....but this software is fabulous and I want to give it to someone scrappy who is willing to do a little leg work! You have until Wednesday, Nov. 2nd at 9pm to get it all done.
Now get in on the fun!!! Go! Right now!! Check out the team, the photo, get inspiration and submit that project!! Can't wait to see who wins!!
