Lasting Memories Challenge #125!

LM #125 'BANANARAMA'

WE WANT TO SEE FRUIT ON YOUR LAYOUTS!!!!

So my sister had my little baby nephew last Wednesday!! Woo hoo!!

With that said, you will see me making a lot of 'naked' layouts for our challenges for a while. I will try to get some of JaKobe (my son) in there but I really want to get a book started for her! This page is 'apple of my eye' and is 6x6. It will fit a 3x5 pic with hidden (or not so hidden!) journaling behind the pic. The green paper is embossed with my cuddle bug folder 'swiss dots'. The apple and sentiment are cut on my Cricut using the All Occasions Cards cart.

I used Crystal Effects on the apple to give it that shiny apple look.....if that makes sense! lol! I popped the sentiment on pop dots that I painstakingly had to cut into itty bitty pieces to fit behind the letters! ugh! Thank goodness for my fabulous Tweezer Bee scissors! (I was not paid any promotional blah blah to say that either!)

I inked the edges of the apple pieces and the sentiment so it would stand out from the paper. Of course I had to use my white gel pen to stitch and accent the page. I also distressed the edges of the papers. The star border at the bottom of the page is a felt embellishment strip I bought in a rak.

Challenge #123 - Christmas 2012

LM #123 'Christmas 2012'

Thank you for joining us last week!! We loved seeing everyone's LO's for our 'Something old Something new' challenge! There were some really creative LO's!! 
This week we have a brand new challenge for you! It's called
 'Christmas 2012'
So we would love to see what you did this Christmas!

I took my son on Mr Jingling's Express! I really wanted to go on Polar Express, however, I waited too long and missed the boat on that! All the tickets were sold out!! :(  To top it off, my son had a fever the whole 3 hour train ride and was miserable. It was really hard for him to muster up a smile, but he appeased me and played along 'for mommy'!! 

And yes, I spelled Jingling's wrong on the page! I JUST realized this while typing up my blog page!! Oh well! I'll go in and fix it later. I made my page with the My Memories sweet software. Check out the link on our Lasting Memories Blog for more information on the software.

Winter's In The Air Blog Hop!!

Oh the weather outside is frightful, but these projects are so delightful!

I made this card without a sentiment so I could use it for whatever may come up! I cannot take credit for painting him :( The bear is actually one of those wooden, already painted bears you would get at the craft store! I just traced him and fussy cut a shadow so he would stand out against my background paper and inked the edges. The white 'snow' is actually glitter paper, just can't tel from the pic.

Bling in the New Year Hop!!!!

This blog is to Bling in the New Year and I saw on Pinterest (i know i know, crazily addicting!) and wanted to incorporate this. You take a jar, bling and some glitter:

Spread craft glue all over the jar. Found out the hard way to not put it on too thick or your rhinestone will glob and run down the side!!

Add rhinestones and some glitter:

You can decorate the lid (i put mine off to the side for now). 

Now write your note for the New Year! JaKobe claims his note pictured below says he loves me!

I wrote on the other side of the 2"x 2" paper and said I had fun making this jar with him and dated it.

We will add notes throughout the year, wishes, good things that happen, funny things he says, anything we may want to remember and then open the jar next new years and read them!! This is a super fun project for your toddler and something you can cherish forever! I plan to take all of the notes out next year and make a Year in Review scrapbook page with all of the notes!!
